What is the History of Vineyard?  The Tuscaloosa Vineyard church began in 2002 with just a couple families and a desire to see people connected to God.  Jon and Amy Quitt began the church as a small group bible study in their home.  The church met publicly on the campus of the University of Alabama.  Then after a couple years meeting in a converted warehouse, Vineyard moved to it’s current location off of Hackberry lane.  The new location offered more space and more ministry opportunity to the community.  For a fuller history of the Vineyard Church globally, visit www.vineyardusa.com

How long do the services last?  80-90 minutes.  This includes a time of worship through song, some announcements, maybe a special song by the band, the sermon, and a time to receive prayer at the end.  We contend this may be the best and most important 90 minutes of your week.

What do I wear?  Just come clothed…please.  Most come in whatever they might put on after a long day at work--jeans, t-shirt and flip-flops are common on a Sunday. We like to say we're like casual Friday, every Sunday.  Though we are casual in our dress, we are pretty serious about God!

What about my kids?   If you have kids birth through 5th grade, you can rest easy knowing your children will be loved and invested in. Our trained and excited staff/volunteers will make your kids time here at Vineyard memorable and inviting.  Drop your kids off in the KidsZone before an adult service begins knowing they will be encouraged and challenged to put their hope in God.

What about youth?  During the Sunday morning services youth remain in regular worship.  However, there is a youth worship time on Wednesday nights in the student center just for them.  Expect high-energy worship, interactive games, authentic relationships and always a challenging talk from our youth pastor.

What are small groups?  As much as we love to gather with hundreds of our friends to worship and celebrate God’s goodness, it’s too easy to remain anonymous on a Sunday.  We invite you to gather with just a few people to do life together.  Small groups meet on almost every day/night of the week.  Some of the groups are bible study focused; others are simple opportunities for prayer and others still just meet for coffee and conversation.  Simply put, we need each other and small groups help us to meet that need.

Do I have to give?  As a first time guest we want you to just sit back and relax.  Meet a new friend, drink a cup of coffee and expect God to meet you.  Our giving portion of the service is for those that call Vineyard their church home.
