Jon has been the pastor since the church started in 2002. He and Amy served in youth and college ministry for 7 years before being introduced to the Vineyard. Jon and Amy interned under Bubba Justice, at the inverness Vineyard Church in Birmingham for 2 years before starting a small group in Tuscaloosa. After several months of meeting as a small group, the decision was made to go public as a Vineyard church plant. Jon graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Criminal Justice. Jon is currently the APCL for Vineyard, overseeing churches in Alabama and Mississippi. Amy graduated from the University of Alabama with an undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology. She also received her Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of South Alabama. Amy is a contract therapist for the County of Green. They have two children, Connor (10) and Sydney (8) who are involved in the children’s ministry at VCC.
Children’s Ministries

Though born in California, Jonathan was raised in the Heart of Dixie. In 1992, he answered the Lord's call to dwell in the Promised Land. Locals refer to this modern day Canaan as simply Auburn University. With his degree in psychology, Jonathan headed off to Atlanta to teach special needs children. After three years of teaching Pre-K classes, Jonathan found himself back in California attending Fuller Seminary. Jonathan comes to Vineyard Community Church via a quick internship at the Inverness Vineyard in Birmingham. Jonathan is married to the former Candace Handley and they have a baby girl, Macey.

Tim was born and raised in Mississippi, but has spent much of his adult life in Texas, Louisiana and now Alabama. He and his wife Leslie worked with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) for the last 8 years in Texas and oversees. Tim and Leslie have 3 children.

Mark is passionate about God and teenagers...a great combination! Mark and Ana attended Vineyard for several years before coming on staff to lead our ministry to middle & high schoolers. They have two children Meagan & Brianna.

Just ask anyone around the Vineyard who really runs the place and quickly they will say, "Amy Sims." With a gift mix that includes administration, mercy and heaps of pastoral love, she is the ultimate in keeping people's eyes focused on serving Jesus. Amy is the mother of triplets (Eli, Sam, & Drew) and the wife of Josh Sims. Amy and Josh are also the Executive Directors of the not for profit Gabes Hope. gabeshopeinc.com
