Jesus and Virginia Tech (Jon Quitt)
What can we say to describe the events of April 16th, 2007? This event will certainly shape us as a people for years to come, much the way 911 has. Of course we are asking questions like, ‘Who is this Cho?” and “Why didn’t the police have this under control?” and “Who is to blame ultimately?”. But more than any of those questions we are asking questions about God and his purposes. How could a God that is supposedly so good allow something so bad to happen? In this talk Jon walks through some of the questions that we struggle with when tragedy strikes and how we can embrace God’s purposes in the face of suffering.
